Well, it was a long journey, but for the most part, it was worth it. I learned of many things that I didn't have a clue about, and I will use many of them in the future. I also enjoyed volleying back and forth with several co-workers, and sharing pretty pictures, etc. I think there are some things that relate to my job, but others were not too pertinent. As far as a future endeavor, I would have to consider what was being offered. Thanks for the opportunity to increase my knowledge.

I tried a few of the Yahoo trial games. I am a bit of a puzzle/gamer person to begin with, so these were fun to try. I usually play Bejeweled2, and get quite involved on my lunch hours. It's good to see some other titles. I don't think it is too relevant to our jobs, however.

I had a lot of fun with GoogleEarth. I do love maps, and checking out the universe was quite a trip, as well. We checked out each other's houses from the air, and spotted our vehicles, trees, etc. I am sure there will be many uses for this in the future. Thanks for the introduction.

I tried a spreadsheet in both googledocs and zoho. In zoho, I chose Japanese, just to see what it looked like, and I can't get it back to English. My bad. I can see where these might come in handy if you don't have Office. It certainly could save some money if you didn't.

I tried out DoppelMe, and created an avatar. Unfortunately, I look like a prepubescent boy....I really haven't had much time to explore, but will get to it. there really is a lot out there, that I never knew existed. This has been quite a journey.

I added the UC/Berkley site to my favorites, and also Dogpile. I tried Mamma, but it wouldn't open. I will try it later. I like Dogpile, but didn't do intensive comparisons, so don't know how much more effective it is than just Google (my preferred choice). It's good to know about the various options.

I signed up for itunes. I subscribed to Martha Stewart's podcast. Learned an easy way to make Pork Satay. Yummy. I also looked at one of the library podcasts, and chose the subject "serving the homeless." It didn't give much useful information, but have to confess I didn't pursue it, due to time constraints. I think there are probably many uses for this capability.

I made a monopoly card, and framed a picture. I can certainly see how some of these tools would be great fun. I will try more later.

We had training and use of Overdrive quite some time ago, so I didn't spend much time on it. I must admit, I haven't tried it at home. Soon

I have set up a del.icio.us account and started "tagging" genealogy sites. It is a beginning. I think this has definite possibilities.

I have fallen a bit behind...

I looked at the Book Lovers Wiki developed by the Princeton Library. I enjoy sharing what others are reading, and if they liked or did not like books I have read. Also getting tips on books I mean to read.

I can see the value to any library or library system in establishing this kind of exchange. Reader's Advisory is such a large part of our service.

Youtube has enabled me to view videos of some performers that I haven't been able to find elsewhere. This has been quite a treat. I have a particular favorite, Mario Frangoulis, whose PBS concert has eluded me. I was able to see and hear several songs that are great.

I found out, the hard way, that choosing favorite topics(news, sports, music, etc.) you are signed up for many, many feeds. I have spent part of the day "unsubscribing." I do see the value of this capability for both personal and work related subjects. It has been an experience.

It should be kind of fun trying to come up with topics of interest. I wish us all luck!
